Dr David Brady will be headlining this year’s CAM Summit, in association with the IHCAN Conferences, on the 25 June in central London. For more information, and to book, log on to www.camsummit.co.uk

Dr Brady has kindly answered some of the questions that he didn’t get time to answer during the webinar:

Have these techniques ever been used to aid in management of primary immunoglobulin deficiency eg CVID?
I have not used them and have no information on this.

How does GI-MAP differ from Genova’s CDSA & Parasitology test?
Here is another webinar we did on this issue: https://vimeo.com/146093991 . In short, the DSL GI-MAP is fully molecular, the GI Effects test is not. The DSL GI-MAP uses a third party validated platform and methodology, the GI-Effects uses an in-house non-externally validated molecular methodology component. Our Luminex platform is the one just adopted by the NHS in the UK.

With the increase in awareness of Lymes Disease, does the GI map test detect any of the bacteria associated with this condition such as Borreliosis?
No.

How can you test for p gingivalis?
Oral swap and culture or molecular analysis in a hospital of dental pathology lab.

The GI microb-X and Oil of Oregano oil – should these be taken with or without food?
Without if possible.

By removing cow’s milk could someone recover from IDDM?
No, not once the damage is already done to the Islet cells.

How important particular strains of probiotics in treating certain health conditions..? Is there research about this? Particularly in children?
There are no real “magic” strains. Using a multi-strain product with good viability is key. Hense, the BioTrack Probiophere delivery technology in the Designs for Health probiotic Synergy and Supreme products.

I found that glutamine causes constipation on clients with leaky gut and hashimoto thyroditis, what would you recommend?
I do not observe that and use it all of the time. I would try to mix in a bit of mag-citrate with the powder and see if that helps.

Can beta-glurononidase be added to the panel to integrate the hormonal side of dysbiosis?
This is a surrogate marker of organisms that produce the enzyme which can’t be cultured. With molecular you do not need to do this and can just test all of the organisms.

What is the accuracy of the tests & how is the accuracy measured?
See the white paper at https://www.diagnosticsolutionslab.com

Which are the genes to test for susceptibility to IDDM please?
